so it seemed..but hey... i know there has already been a thread locked on this subject (i dont know why... it seems if we are being mistreated people should know about it) but i have words i need to say. W T F . how are you going to tell a group of people NO DRINKING and your own people are drinking on the trail when Bill snapped his axleshaft, AND making fun of him for doing it? that pisses me the f*ck off. i had a GREAT time at your piece of property there dont get me wrong, but i'll be god damned if i EVER go back the way your staff talked about my friends while i was standing right next to them, and that doesnt even include the fact that the asshat driving the CJ has a coors light in his hand for the entire evening after the sun went down. during the day i had the time of my life. after dinner i was having fun until two orange shirt guys started talking shit about every member of our group that tried to make it up that particular section.... like we werent good enought to try your obstacles... bad form assholes, way to get people to come back next time you dumbshit. maybe thats why nobody would pull the ZJ off the rock when he charged up the side while someone was trying to run that section of the trail... its hard to get help when your friends are badmouthing all the people available to help you.

i know im not the only preson who witnessed this, im just the one to say what needs to be said because i dont give a damn how much i piss someone off. this is the main reason i left so early, and from reading up on the threads i can see that was a good decision on my part. i for one would not put up with the mouthing off about "killing your girlfriend"... there would have been a SERIOUS problem after that, and i would have gone beyond harsh words, but thats just me.

enjoy your rock garden folks, i will NOT be returning. i had an extremely good time, and there is some awesome wheeling on your peice of property, but the way some of my close friends were treated and/or spoken to is extremely unacceptable. let us know when you get some more mature people representing your buisness and i will be glad to give it another shot. until then, rest assured i will let every one of my friends know how you run your buisness, and as fun as it is out there, you ruined it for me.

see this is why im one of the Black Sheep... people are afraid to talk shit.... im not. there were more than a few of us that heard some things being said that were NOT COOL and i have plenty of words for anyone who was there that thinks in full of shit. i head down that way once a month so we can have a little conversation face to face, but you cant deny what multiple people heard, and that shit aint right.

the best part about this weekend was the fun we had during the day, the worst part was the shit talking after dark.

.!.:(.!.

well said grimm...

WOW... i left before dark (stuff to do)... but im glad i was not there either.

I was the Loser in the stock black XJ :) . BUT I gotta say... Im happy I wasn't there for this... Like you Grimm, I speak my mind... (ask Socal Bill).. but if they were in fact talking trash to my buddy, At the VERY least I will never put another cent into their pockets.

I will say when i was there, they were pretty cool to me.. but i did notice what you were talking about in reguards to alcohol... a few, including myself had some while waiting for the park to open, i got approached VERY quickly by a lady working there firmly stating "NO alcohol is allowed on these grounds"... i said OK.. dumped it and whatever.. but then to see their "Staff" drinking pissed me off a little.... "Do as i say, not as i do"...

Well, I'm glad someone else feels similarly, and heard the level of uncoolness being spouted by the "orange-shirt" crowd. I wasn't aware they'd been loose-lipped all day, I figured it started when the beer began flowing. *Shakes head*

As far as the beer, I know for a FACT they told us NO drinking. Very bad form for them to get drunk and make fools of themselves, if you ask me.

Sorry, Grimm, but HEY! ...at least we have Azusa!!

werent you a part of the "orange shirt" crowd lol

yeah me too, i had a couple beers while i was cooking dinner... but i didnt bring a rig, i was hitching rides all night. wheeling loaded is one thing, but to ban it and then have your own people doing it is rediculous.... and im pretty sure thats what caused all the shit talking, unless those guys are just aholes, which means we should have got along.

:dunno:

Yo Mike, I was there with the guys that were badmouthing the ZJ guy. And he had it all wrong, they weren't badmouthing his truck, that thing was bad-a, they were badmouthing his conduct; charging up the side of rock pile, not only cutting out the "4 or 5 other xjs down there that didn't offer help" who had been patiently waiting in line, but also choosing to do it when they were trying to get Matt off, (I believe, might have been the guy before him though). They had every right to be trash talking on him because he was being a dbag to the max. I too had a great time, but if I'm gonna have to put up with that kind of company down there, you can count me out as well.

btw how those pics and vids coming??? I think you got some good stuff of my junk!!

After all that I have read in the multiple posts I probably will not attend an event there unless I hear some good talk about the people who represent the facility.

Two reasons I did not make it:
1 - My trans is still laying on the floor waiting to get put in
2 - I have an event coming up at the streets of willow.

There is plenty of wheeling in quite a few places as the garden and the same type of fund raiser for the cause could be organized at a much cheaper rate thus yielding more people to attend.

if you have rules set forth for the attendants the same rules should also be for the workers.

In my opinion the people running the show should not be running, they should have been there to just make sure that everyone is having a sucessful day and give help when stuck, not bitch cause they are stuck and no one will jump and help them, but that is just me.

Good luck at the garden

I Think I will go run stoddard valley this weekend.

Leep

Skwerly and grimm, thanks for the heads up on this place..I'll let my friends know not to go there, we had a trip planned in august.. I didnt go this time because of me being open/open, the guys i run with are slow an like to pull me over things.......LOL Thank you again for the heads up

I missed all the shit talking. but then again, I did some myself. Tongue in cheek of course. Did I drink a barely pop. Yes I did, after I broke my jeep for the day.
I too though I saw some beers in drivers hands till I noticed not. They were energy drinks that looked like coors.
If shit was talked about me... Do you think I really care? I'm an asshole in my own right and I will stick to it. My take on the RockGarden, The owner can do what he wants and let whoever he wants drink beer. Its his land, his rules. Doesn't mean crap about the "if he can do it, why can't I?" read the previous sentence.
The fact of the matter is, The place is an hour away for me. $80/year to be a member gets you into the park for $10. The nearest rocks with a challenge like that is in the desert. (sorry, Corral canyon doesn't cut it). With current fuel prices, do the math... I spent about 10 gallons of fuel round trip. Fortunatly I'm running BioDiesel that I made myself so it gets cheaper for me.
I broke. I could have easily brought out spares, or even trailered the jeep home, fixed it then trailered it back out in time for dinner. Its worth it.
I am looking forward to going back. Just because a couple people on both sides talked crap.... whatever. Just go faster and get over it. Instead of getting butthurt about the smack, Go back and show em up.
I got thru that Vnotch where a comp buggy BROKE!!! And the owner of the park got wedged. I think I'll be heading back out there real soon. That was just too fun.

Get over it.

Im not one who says much but I do agree with Grimm here and everyone else. Our first obligation is to naxja members and to let the ones who didnt go know whats up so they dont go there thinking everyhting thing is rosey dosey and its not.

This goes to the owner of the rock garden I had a bad ass time there, and thank you for letting us use your property, But think of this what would of happened if your buddy in the zj or even you would of hit a kid or adult and seriously hurt or possibly killed them. Being the owner you sure as hell shouldnt have been drinking or letting your friends drink when you asked eveyone else not to. But your the owner and can do what you want to. I sure dont want you to lose your property because of some accident that could have been prevented. I thought the course was for naxja members only who were acting responsible to the letter. They werent making there own course like the guy with the zj, or asking kids and spectators to move so they could cut across a course with naxja members already on. What if a fight did break out, you never know and people got hurt or arrested is that what you want for your business, im sure its not.

Im a easy going guy and get along with just about eveyone, but even I was saying what the hell is this guy doing more than once that night. Its really sad a Great day had to end on such a sour note.

Something to think about Rock Gadren before something seriously happens or someone seriously gets hurt.

ryan im not talking about the back and forth crap talking AND i have vid of you bring the only rig to make that line.. im talking about the guy saying "hey grab me another coors light" you guys have your fun, i choose to disassociate myself with people that treat my friends like crap when they cant hear whats being said.

not to take away from the bitchin time we all had there this weekend blah blah blah... i just dont like my friends bieng ripped on for no reason.

Glad everyone had fun.. Say it agian this was a learning experince for everyone sorry for the drama..... Hey wheelin is what we all here for if you liked it great if not sorry but no hard feelings here... Not that shit talking help .... But changes are already in place... LIKE I SAID LEARNING EXPERINCE>>>>>>> I have no answers what happened happened The Rock Garden Has always been a great place to wheel.....

Yeah, I was there when the ZJ got stuck and Brian (I think) asked if someone could give him a tug. No one was real enthusiastic about it, but jeeperjohn was there and quickly moved his Jeep into position. It was a matter of a few seconds. I would've pulled him out but I didn't have my Jeep there. I had ridden down with someone else. Besides nobody would have left him hanging there.

Back at the entrance, Skwerly said that the ZJ ran him off the road. Then Brian comes over and wants to know who had refused to help. I flat out said to him that Tommy had been less than cordial all day. Why did he (Tommy) feel that he had to wheel his ZJ with our group when he can wheel there any day of the week?

I got the impression that the "staff" was very unprofessional. I also heard them make comments about some of the rigs there, including mine. And if there is a "No Drinking" policy, this should also apply to the people who work there.

I also won't go back there again. I'm sure the RG people don't care and that's okay with me. It was a great day, but the "drama" left a poor taste.

Fixed! :dunce:
fixed my ass, when someone throws a corona bottle on the ground and asks for another beer i get pissed when i am told there is not drinking on the trail.and i hope there is no "oh the werent driving" BS because i saw someone hop behind the wheel one handed to go winch the ZJ out.

like i said, you have fun with your double standard BS, i hope you keep it going for a long time without anyone gettin hurt.

Nice thread Grimm. I spoke my mind after Tommy started crap last night and Prater came and deleted EVERY ONE OF MY POSTS. I wasn't out of line in all (only one) and I voiced these concerns as well but it seems someone doesn't want to make the rock garden mad???

Here is my problem with Tommy's driving. The way it was explained to me, we would be "guided" through the facility, then have BBQ, then be allowed to try alternate lines. That's NOT what happened. The 3rd obstacle while Matty was stuck Tommy comes romping through (right where people are sitting/standing) and up the crazy side to get stuck and be in the way of Matty's recovery. Tommy has a BAD ASS rig and the normal lines are boring for him, I am sure of it, but everyone else was following the rules as given to us. The rules also applied to drinking evidently. The 3 guys standing at little con (or whatever its called) were talking trash all night with comments like "if you break you become an obstacle" but didn't like that comment when Tommy got stuck. My 2 cents AGAIN....unless Prater deletes it again
