Full bodied MJ on 42.5 boggers

Sweet Rig! You need to bring that thing to the Crawl in July! One question on your boggers. Are they 16.5 Hummer rims? Are they a sticky or standard?
x2 on taking it to the crawl. Another rig on Boggers!

I took this week off from work to get this thing ready for the local Memorial Day jeep ride. Missed it last year, wont this year.

Made a pair of bump cans on the lathe.

I used 2" schedule 40 pipe, trued it and cut the ends perfectly strait.

Figured I should plate the body before I mounted anything to it. So I got a 4'x4' sheet of 3/16" and some poster board. Then cut them out with the plasma cutter.

I went to Tractor Supply to pick up some thick steel bushings to make the clamps. Well they are 6 bucks each! x 8 is 48. I could buy cans for that. So I used part of a 2 1/4" exhaust clamp, kinda redneck but they work.

I made mounts and cycled 3 times before everything cleared and lined up.

This is were they ended up working the best.

I initially underestimated the travel difference when you run the bump on the control arm and shock on the axle. I'm sitting 1/4" into the bump at ride height. Not ideal but ProFender claims it will be fine, I may still raise the coilovers an inch or so. Thoughts?

Finally seeing some action. Took it out today, mostly a test/shakedown run. It honestly impressed the crap out of me.

I have a couple videos on Facebook. If I can figure out how to post them I will.

Bring it on down to Harlan......

I can't make it down for that. I work full time and don't yet own a good tow rig. Hopefully in the future.

Tonight I replaced my roller fairlead with a hawse. Kept hitting it last weekend. Its a metal one so it should hold up to the cable for a while. I plan on getting synthetic line soon and ill replace it with an aluminum one.

Here is a couple pics of my skidplate. Its 3/16. I made a subframe with 1.75 x .095 tubing that holds my trans and transfer case. (Thought I had a pic but can't find it) Then attached skid to it. I also countersunk the bolts so I don't smash them all up.

It has taken the full weight of the jeep and only scratched. It does however trap a lot of exhaust heat, which in turn makes my floor very hot. Still working on that one.
