Fuel hose problem part 2

I posted earlier this weekend that my 4.0L is leaking from the fuel return hose at the rear of the fuel rail. It is not leaking from the connection, it is leaking out the back of the crimp by the rubber hose section. The hose is one piece, well two pieces permanently crimped together, all the way back to the tank. The part is discontinued by the factory. Any recomendations on what I should do?

What I recall about my 88 XJ is the hose that connects to the rear of the fuel rail connects to a chassis hard line. I think the hose is around 2 feet long and has those couplings you pay $15 at the dealer to renew.

I can believe Chrysler dropped the part since it may of only been used on the Renix XJs. That the ont thing I have noticed with my 88 XJ, the AMC parts not used by Chrysler are no longer available.

I find it a little hard to believe you have to buy the entire hard line and the flex hose.

The parts guy you talked to do you trust him or did you feel he did not understand late 80s XJs? I have been to some dealer parts depts and the guys have no idea that AMC use to own Jeep and do not understand the differences.

If I get time tomorrow I'll call my dealership an ask if those lines are still available. They are 16 years old so replacing them would be a good thing for me. I'll post what I find out.

I crawled underneath tonight and it is a crimp connection again where the rubber line meets the hardline to the tank not a quick connect fitting. The guy at the steelership seemed to know his stuff. He found two part numbers for the line and both were discontinued
