Looking for some tech info guys. I have dont really know much about fsj. I have the opportunity to buy a pretty mint 76 cherokee for a good price. I know it has the 258 with a 4spd. Havent had a chance to look at it in person in the light. Is it safe to assume it has the t18 dana 20 and 44s f/r? Its going to get scrapped on friday, but I can get it for scrap price if I buy before then.

Any help would be aporeciated.

check out ifsja.org
Tons of info and fsj help there.
It should have the drivetrain you mentioned. Pretty stout and dependable.
It looks like a good deal for scrap price, what $450-$550, not sure what scrap is these days.

That's a steal for that price. Buy it!!!

I think in the 70s it might have had a t18. If it's a 4 speed it should be though. Definitely has 44s, either way if it runs and drives good and it's cheap, get it.

Just looked\drove it again. Def has 44s and the granny low. Interior is mint! Floors and rockers are pretty solid, just the rust behind the doors. Getting it for 500 and a case of beer. I figure if all else fails ill be able to part it out for more way more than that.

Buy it and flip it rather than part it out. Not near the market for fsj parts. I parted one out and it took forever to sell stuff, still have a few things 10 years later.

buy it and fix it or buy it and flip it...don't part it out. like its been said, it takes a while and doesn't net a lot of return. if it runs and is solid its probably worth 1200-1500 on ifsja or fsj network. z and m jeeps makes replacement body panels for not a ton of money. if you ever know someone who will be going though ohio they are right off the interstate...if i were under slightly different circumstances right now, i would probably buy it but i already have too many projects, not enough space and we are trying to save for a house :(
