Front Truetrac...benefits vs drawbacks

I have a no-slip rear and tru-trac front. I live in MA and we see snow and ice. If you are making a trail rig, avoid the tru-trac, if it is a DD I think a TT is great in the front. It helps with traction in snow, does not induce understeer, and does not engage unexpectedly. A TT also pulls around corners and helps maintain traction. A selectable is nice, but it won't be nice in corners on the road, so you will either turn it off for corners (then you have open for steering) or you leave it locked and you definitely get understeer.

The people I see dogging on the TT either are using it for the wrong reason or never drive in the snow. FWIW if i were building a rig for DD only, it would have front and rear TTs in it.

Well, my selection of traction enhancement devices was based on wanting a good multipurpose rig. My XJ is no longer a DD but I still wanted good wintertime on road capability since I live in ice and snow country. Have not tested a slick off-camber situation yet but I am getting a sense that the front TT will help pull out of those situations.
