Front seat

Hey gang,

I may be needing a new driver front seat. Mine popped the other day and is now loose. I will be taking it out tomorrow night to see what happened.

Any ideas where to check? I looked the rail already and it looks OK.

If I need one, anybody got a grey seat in good condition?

Any input on aftermarket? I am not crazy about the Rubicon seat by Mastercraft. My Jeep is my daily drivre, so I need something comfortable and adjustable.

Thanks,
Robert

For comfy seats check out redart. They are fairly local (Anaheim) and they have a variety of pretty comfy seats.

I had that happen to mine... just pull it out and pull the fabric up on the back... probably a broken weld near the hinge (thats what mine was)

Ended up getting some mastercraft rubicons.... they were cool. but just a little too tight for a big guy liek me. so long drives arnt that cool. Kinda dig in right around the hips.

I'm probably gonna get myself some redarts or PRPs and sell of the Rubicons off

Just for the hell of it check the torque of the bolts...one of mine loosened up recently...

Thanks everyone. I will be pulling the seat this afternoon. For money sake, I hope it's something simple, loose bolt or broken weld.

If it's a weld, anyone close by available to tack it together for this evening? Please give me a call on my cell 714-319-7135.

Thanks,
Robert

Good news! I do not have to buy a new seat. I took the seat out last night. There are 2 small welds on the frame where the "hinge" is at for the rear piece. All I need to do is tack this back together.

Is this somethign JB Weld will be OK for? OR Should I find someone to weld it for me?

Thanks,

Robert

Well hopefully its just a broken weld and nothing is bent.... Those little brackets are a bitch to dbend back properly and actually keep there strength.

mine probably would of been okay if I didnt decide to go flying out of the bomb craters at JV with it likt that :laugh3:
