Freeeebieeee! - CD head unit (with issues...)

OK, I think the amp is blown in my head unit, so it got replaced this weekend with a sexy Alpine Unit. Some schmo on Craigslist says he'll give me $20 since he thinks he can fix it, but I'd rather give it to one of you fellas who thinks he can fix it. Especially since it has 99XJ wiring harnesses currently attached, so its pretty much plug and play (if fixed) for 97+ rigs.

Its a Pioneer DEH-P47DH, 45Wx4 max power, subwoofer pre-outs, and includes a cord that hooks into the CD Changer plug to allow the use of iPods/MP3 players too.

my guess is everything works except the internal amp. so it would be a good deck to use with external amps.

my guess is everything works except the internal amp. so it would be a good deck to use with external amps.

That would be totally true, and I would have kept it, except the only RCA pre-outs it has is for a subwoofer...

ill come get it. when do you get off work? Im sure I can get it working. It will give me something constructive to do. Plus the CD player in my TJ is crap. I had that same Pioneer in my old XJ. They fit the dash opening perfectly! Ill call you later on today to schedule a time to come get it. You have my number also if you're pressed for time to leave town. Im not working today so whens good for you, is good for me!

ive messed with those things before. it has some kind of CD changer connection in the back if i can remember. They sell the connector at Best Buy that lets you use the CD changer connection as a 3.5mm jack that can be used to plug into an ipod. you just have to mess with the settings in order to create the AUX source. Took me a good week to figure that out. I look forward to playing with it.
