my grandparents have a queensland heeler/ australian cattle dog that they can no longer keep. she is a very good dog and the only reason they cannot keep her is because they do not have a fence around their yard and some older people complained that she was running loose. she wouldnt run away, just greet people by the driveway as they walked by, and apparently someone didnt like it. animal control came out and said she has to find a new home or a fence has to be put up. and fences are too much $$$.. great watch dog and family pet.. would really prefer for her to go to a home with a lot of room for her to run.. please let me know asap if there is any interest.. idk if i can find a pic, ill try to.. she is about a year old and her name is wendy

thank you

got a pic?

oh man! i have a queensland right now, i wish i could have another. but i am pretty sure my parents would kill me.

these are some of the best dogs you'll ever be around. they are great dogs. good luck finding it a good home.

I met this dog about a year ago. VERY friendly good looking and will make someone happy.

Sucks to hear about your grandparents needing to get rid of the dog. They are good people...

I currently have a cattle dog and live on horse property. Is the dog fixed, how old is she, how well trained, she ok with kids/other dogs/horses and is she up to date on shots, etc?

thanks for all the responses guys! she really is a great dog. she is 1 year old, is good with kids and other dogs(my grandparents have 3 other dogs) im not sure about horses to be honest. she is house trained and she is also fixed. these dogs are really smart. oh she uses a doggy door also. im working on getting a pic right now.

thanks guys!

she has black, greyish blue color, and some white
You know even a colorblind person can tell that :D
I just emailed my aunt she lives in that area, i dont know if she is looking for a dog, but i tried for ya

Wow, what a cutie. Talked to my wife, we think this is exactly the type of dog we're looking for.

The decision for us now, is if we WANT another dog...(used to have a 150lbs lab/goldie mix...great dog) We've been out of the dog scene for a few years and are pretty realistic when it comes to costs, exercise, and midnight carpet vommit cleanup..haha!

Gonna follow this thread, and keep talking to my girl this week to see if we can do this...

BTW, we live on an acre in the country east of san diego near sycuan casino.

About 1/2 of that is fenced by 6ft chainlink. She'd have a crapton of room to run around on during the day while we're at work. We've had a couple dogs stay during "dog sitting" visits, and they all seemed to love sleeping out in our insulated garage on a big dog pillow, with the door open to go pee whenever they wanted, and then being able to lounge on our back patio during the sunny days...

I'd consider it but I've already got three dogs and the newest one is already eating more than the other two did. In HS my mom and I had a australian shepherd mix (Mom still has her) and she was pretty cool. Laid back but when we took her to NY to visit family, we visited my aunt, who had ducks. She used to let the ducks roam the yard, and as soon as the dog saw the ducks waddling free, she knew her job and immediately ran over to corral them back into their pen. Every time they waddled out. It was hilarious.

this sounds perfect! and she is outside most of the time, although she does great indoors on the cold days and at night (sleeps inside and mostly outside during the day) she had the whole desert to roam but really never left the yard unless we did. shes a great dog.. let me know if you want to look at her.

thank you

I definitely well, Alek. Yeah, she'd be inside at night...and during the hot weather we have during the summer (around 107).

I'd just scoot her outside when I left for work in the morning to an outside bed so she can do her business and chew on squirrels and stuff.

Do you by chance, know how much she weighs, and how much she's supposed to weigh as an adult (ballpark breed average is totally fine.) I'll try googling it, too.
