anyone happen to know the procedure? is it as simple as making a new soft line? i havent taken them apart yet (dont have a cap), or i would take them into the local earls#1.

anyone got recommendations on an earls hose/ends to use? probably the higher end aeroquip stuff with swivel seal ends?

trying to avoid a call into fox, thanks.

Piggyback typically has a hard connection between the body and the resi. If your resi unscrews then you should be able to adapt something. But if they are welded, then you are in for spending some $$ to have them modified.

fox says i gotta send em in, and it'll be about $160 per shock =\ oh vey.
I'm not sure that is too bad considering. Talking about going from this to this, right?

Find out what they would be changing exactly. Full rebuild with it?

~$60 for new top cap
~$60 for new hose (I know can be had cheaper)
~$10 for new resi end if reuse resi or ~$120 if a new resi is used.

So about $130 in parts and $30 in labor, or a lot more in parts.

thanks guys, i was hoping for something a lot cheaper. pics like this led me to think it'd be easy, but i guess not! thanks!

sorry, just fully re-read your post rcman, (thanks for the help) but mine are bypass's, so they exit off the main body, not the cap, like in skullver's setup i posted.

Yeah, oh well. Way more bling than I'm used too! :)

Good luck.

Try Kris @ shockseals.com or you could probably just take them down to The Hose Man in Colton (909-514-0516) and show them what you're trying to acomplish and they should be able to help you with the hose. There may be other hydaulic hose makers closer to you than them. You'll still need a shock-specific guy for oil and nitrogen.

It was actually not too bad once I get them back, I did have to send in the shock bodies to SAW to get the resi cap unstuck from the hard line welded to the body(way too much pipe dope), SAW did that for free and sent me new caps also free as they were destroyed getting them off. Then I went to a local hose maker and had the hoses made, and bought the couplers, I believe it was about $50/shock if I remember correctly. Good luck!
