Found a Haynes manual I have, will it work for me?

Its a Haynes manual that you would find at autozone or wherever, and it was published in 1997. So its from the first years of XJs and MJs all the way through 97. But I have a 98. Can I still use this as an accurate maintenance manual? I also have the FSM for a 99, so that will work too, but I was just curious about the Haynes. Thanks.

excellent news. I think I found this manual in a house my mother moved into back in the day, and just kinda hung on to it. I was going through some stuff yesterday and found it, and low and behold, I have a Cherokee. Crazy ish.

Destiny.

A few things changed in 98, but not a whole lot. Personally, the Haynes isn't that great but if you have a free one its better than nothing - usually. I wouldn't try using it as a guide for an engine or tranny tear down, but it should suffice for most light work.

Haynes and Chiltons are just "OKAY" for basic maintenance. Anything more than that, it's a good idea to get a factory service manual. I have all 3 and there really is nothing like the FSM for comprehensive information. Ebay is a good place to source them.
