A guy at work is converting his '90 F250 HD 4x4 from auto to manual with a 4-speed from a '86 F250 because he recently blew up the auto tranny in the '90. He's swapping the transfer cases and drive shafts with the transmissions, so he now has a big driver side drop T-case from behind the '90 F250 HD automatic available for sale. I was wondering what unit this may be if anyone might know... I couldn't find any obvious tags on it as on a NP / NVG case.

Thanks!

I'm not sure about the "newer" Ford's. It Could be one of 3 t-cases. NP 205, 203, 208.

more than likely it is BORG WARNER 1356, these were used in F150 - F350 4x4's. Ford stopped using NP transfer cases in the 80's.

it will either be a manual one or a electric shift.

My F150 has the manual one... very good tc in my humble opinion.

Further research has revealed that its a manual shift BW 1356... not too sure if it is useful or not.
