Does anyone know what axles came in the 1971-1977 Ford F150 custom truck? We have one on the property and was curiosu to know if anyone knew which axle in the rear it could be.

that would ba a ford 9"

#splines/bearing size vary from year to year.....look it up.

okay so it is the 9." Sweet. Might save myself the 200 bucks of buying an 8.8 and running a fullsize 9 inch and just using the money saved to re-gear and rebuild the axle.

Would the leaf springs be to rigid to use in my XJ to help fix the leafs if I am aiming for 4.5-5.5" of lift?

check the width of the spring, you may be able to use a few intermediate leaves to help you out if they are the same width as the xj's

yeah that is what i was thinking. Some of my XJ leafs, well lets just say they have seen better days.
