Will that fit the XJ's stock exhaust system?

No, a XJ requires a center inlet/offset outlet muffler. Unless you want a custom tailpipe, or no tailpipe, it won't work. And it still may not fit because of the offset inlet. That's why it's in non-jeep parts.
