floor jack rebuild?

I inherited an old floor jack from my neighbor, I think its 2.5 ton but I don't remember right now. I used it to swap my axles and do a couple of other things. Anyway it cleaned up pretty nice, it has bearings and grease fittings on the wheels so it moves around easy. But the pump action is kind of weak, and when it has any load on it the handle goes down about half way through the stroke before the jack part starts rising. Does it need hydraulic grease or something?

Find the rubber or metal fill plug and crack it a bit, might have a suction inside. That could help if the seals are still good. My gf dad works hydraulic for 24 years so I can ask him later what else he thinks.

watched some youtube vids it looks like just bleed it and add hydraulic oil which I can probably buy at TSC. may just drain and refill. I dont think its leaking.

well should have gone out and turned the light on instead of posting, instructions on how to maintain are printed right on it

seals are ruined, costs about $40 for a seal kit, another $55 if I get a hydraulic shop to rebuild, I can get one of the good 3T from HF for about that, so this one went in the recylce
