Im looking for a good machine shop that has experience do flat top knuckle milling. My flattops are off of a J10 so unfortunatly i need both knuckles milled.

In reality I want to walk in, hand my knuckles to a guy and say "I want them milled, drilled, and tapped to accept hi-steer arms and 9/16's studs"

And I would like the reply to be "No problem, I know exactly what needs to be done"

Any shops in the auburn or roseville area that have extensive knowledge and know how in doing this kinda work? Additionally, I have no idea what this is going to run me... for those of you who have had it done - what was the $damage$??

Thanks,
-jm

i hate foothill offroad! (i have my reasons)

support the little guys, WFO is a shop right off Streeter Rd. (half-way between Auburn and GV) run by two really cool brothers. They know their stuff and have a mill setup with a jig to do the flat-tops. They do tons of other great work too, tell them Brett sent you.

edit: I should mention, they're price is the same as everyone else, $65 per. But they will be able to do it quick, and might even have some already done that they can just trade you. If you get your steering arms (PartsMike arms) from them and have them make you your tie-rod and stuff too, they'll probably come up with a good package price for you.

$36 for some axle shims would be one of mine.
yep, and $8 for a 2.5 inch piece of DOM for a shackle hangar, nothing even attached, literally 2.5 inches of tube fresh off the chop saw

i also overheard one of the guys on the phone with a customer telling the guy everything they could do to his TJ they already had; I had never heard someone actually get raped over the phone, I wanted to grab the phone and tell that guy he was gettin screwed.

foothill offroad sucks.
Any shop that would call a customer a Dumbass to his face and then argue with him for 20 minutes about "all backyard mechanics do shit work" Then they(foothill) realized they gave him the wrong part. The correct part was then given to him then told "Don't ever come back" can kiss my ENTIRE @ss. :twak:

Rosemont did not shut down. Adam and the crew at Rosemont had a differing opinion on where the direction of the business will go and he took his tools and inventory. Adam was the main reason that I dealt with Rosemont and I am not impressed by the job they did on Marni's rig when I took it in for the last warranty work. I asked that the check everything and replace what needed to be replaced. My TC is still whining loudly even after they told me that the fluid from it was very burnt. Looks like I will have to fix that myself now, with a 231 of course.
