Reworked my crossmember and skidplate a couple months ago before the Dakota Territory Challenge. The original one was similar in shape but had been bent upwards about 1" from running it 6+ years. Also made a similar one for the t-case skid but got lazy with the bracing and it twisted and took out the 231 case. Version 2.0 shouldn't have that issue.

Started with 4340 plate, 3 section with 45 degree wings bent on the ends for the middle sections. The outer frame rail wrap around the stock rails which I also plated.

Bracing added, thin walled 4340 (been buyings scraps and cutoff's and had a nice pile built up that I used).

Painted the inside, added the dimpled top plate

Bolted them up and ran 4 days of wheeling. I'll have to grab a pic of them bolted up. Thought I had one somewhere but can't seem to find it.

Couple inches of room between the t-case and skid:

20.75" of tape (including the tape body). 21.75" under the center.

Might make a thin bolt on sheet to really tie the 2 halves together, haven't decided yet.

Easier to bend a 1 inch wing on each end then to do a full sheet and have it to come out straight and square. 4340 plate is a PIA to bend consistently. Buddies shop has the break so it was free. Made it quicker and easier for him.

The outers wraps were separate as the frame rails are not parallel so it's tough to align. I fought this on the first go around. Much easier to weld on while held in place.

Thanks. My fab skills aren't quite that good to sell anything. With all the chromo it would probably be a bit spendy. The t-case needs to be clocked to get the rear to fit as well. Had it out the other weekend in Hal Johns and it seems to working well. Still thinking about adding something to connect the 2 pieces together in the middle. Managed to kill the fuel pump and pull apart the passenger A pillar so the skid probably won't be touched for awhile.

Any shots of your exhaust. I've been trying to figure out how much clearance I have for a cat and muffler. I think I have the muffler figured but not the cat. I'm in California.

No cat. It fell off somewhere along the way. Oval tubing down the center. Glasspack under the rear seat. I'll try to grab a pic, it's tight. Not sure the oval was a great idea. It fits better but I still managed to tag it several time on rocks and crush it.

Gawd, I thought the frame rails on my 91 were beat. :) What'd you use to attach the pan to the frame with? Drill/tap, rivnuts/nutserts, pass through with crush sleeve?

Thanks
