Any discussion on dates or location for this year's Fall Flog? I'd love to see some more participation this year. We were a little slim last year at Adventure - compared to the last few at Golden Mountain and Hale Mountain.

It's typically held around the 7th or 8th of November.

I still think it should be at Gulches one year. I realize that'll never happen since everyone thinks it's still a mudhole but at least I can't say I didn't try.

We did an east and west flog one year. Take the bull by the horns and get-r done! :gag:

Let's use this as a nomination for places to go. I would throw in Windrock to the mix. November will be too late for me but nevermind that.

I'd be ok with Windrock. I'd like to do a park I haven't been to. I'd also kind of like to get back to Golden Mountain sometime. I'd like to hear more about some of the Alabama options that I'm not familiar with.

I'm a fan of windrock. But anywhere with rocks is fine for me.

I'd like to check that out some day but for the money/drive time I can almost get to Harlan.......

The cost issue always comes up with Windrock. I can attest that I am usually against paying so much to wheel, but after visiting the park with some top notch guides it is well worth the fees and has so much to offer for all sizes of jeeps. There are some impressive obstacles you can get into, but I think the real draw is the expansive trail network and how many different trails and areas you can experience. The smaller tire scenic group would have a blast.

I was referring to the distance from me. Harlan is 374 and Windrock is 356. 18 miles difference. Some day I'll go there.

Windrock would be fun but since it is questionable whether my pile will me mobile by then, don't count my opinion.

I didn't make it last year but I would like to make it this one.

I could very well be up for this depending on dates if it's at windrock.

Who can give some advice on Alabama parks? I'm really liking this idea to extend down to our guys farther south if there is interest. Possibly a dual southern reach with Gulches and Bama.

Alabama has a few parks. Hale Mtn. is one of my favorites and it's right at the boarder of TN and AL. I highly suggest this for a venue. I'll help if needed. I know the owners and ride out there all the time

Choccolocco is in Jacksonville AL. Also a great park. Will loves this park.

Stoney Lonesome in Pullman is a nice parka s well. 1800acres with lots of trails for every type of vehicle. Also a great venue.

Hawks Pride is near Florence, in the NW corner of the state. Never been there, but have heard good things.

Morris Mountain ORV is near Anniston AL. I went there for a wounded warrior ride in May. It was a great venue and has great trails for everyone. If it has rained recently though, this place gets extremely difficult.

The last one I can think of is Hollytree ORV park which is about 15 mins from my house. Its a good park with plenty of trails and camping space. I think they have 600-800 acres there now. Very rocky trails for the most part. Trails aren't quite as broken in as the other parks, but Hollytree has a ton of potential.

Thanks for the ideas! Choccolocco seems to have a good facility as far as camping options as well as hotels nearby. Are their any bathrooms set-up at Hale? Hotels nearby?

Hale Mtn. is out there. Decherd, TN or Huntsville, AL seem to be the closest populated areas where restaurants and hotels can be found. We had the Flog at Hale Mtn. before and I really like this park. They have restrooms and camping but no electric at the top of the Mtn. (at least when I was there last).

Hale Mountain was a fun park. There really isn't anything out there at all in regards to restaurants or hotels as Ed said. It is the only park I've been to where you may need 4x4 just to reach the campsites. The restrooms at the top are just porto-johns with a bucket underneath. There are shower facilities (I think) down at the bottom of the hill. If not showers, at least a real toilet with running water.

I'd prefer to go somewhere I haven't been...which is most places.

This was my first experience at Hale Mountain - less than 2 minutes into the trail ride:
