IIRC I read on here about a formula to determine optimum cruising RPM for an engine based on either stroke length or rod and stroke length. it may have been Dino who posted it but I can't recall, I have tried searching anyone else know what I am talking about or have heard something like that?

The optimal cruising speed has a ton of variables. Other than gearing, I think the grind of the cam has probably the most impact. My stroker has a low rpm peak and it sits nicely in the power band cruising at 70-95.
