Nick

its a 2000 Cherokee sport. Im going to be leaving for college soon and it is a 300 mile drive to get there. So I want to get my highway mpg up (same with city mpg).

Im not looking to throw new gears in (too costly). I I want try a few bolt ons.

Thanks
Jordan

Hey Im planning am minor engine build up.
What are some good upgrades?
I have the exhaust done. Im thinking intake and maybe a chip.... COnsidering the edge trailjammer.
any advice?
Thanks Jordan

The Edge Trailjammer is way overpriced and I don't think it performs as well as claimed. Just do:

Cold air intake
62mm bored TB (look in ebay)
Replace stock clutch fan with a 14" electric unit (wirred up to work in tandem with auxiliary electric fan)

Chips are a waste of money and do almost nothing (except lighten your wallet).

how is this done?

what fan is recommend?

Get you TB from here: http://www.strokedjeep.com/

As others have said, the Trail Jammer is over priced.

I have no experience with JET chips but I have used a HYPERTech III programmer. All it did was make my engine ping. Waste. [email protected] does have a PCM modification that does a whole host of things other than timing an AFR.

Also, do some research on your 2000 0331 head. If it was my XJ the first thing I would od is take the head off and replace it with an Alabama Cylinder Head 0331 upgraded casting. Do a polish and port while you have it off.
