EIS Plans for Stanislaus

Not sure if anyone has seen this yet so I thought I would post it up. This plan effects a lot of 4 wheeling in this area ( Slick rock, Niagra creeek, Deer Valley, Black springs area) to name a few. A meeting is coming up on 1/12/08 in Modesto. Mark your Calendars!!!!!

Does not seem like anything to worry about to me. Proposal #7 is the only option converting trails from open to all to open to street leagal only.

All other options are actually increasing the number of trails and/or opening the trails up for more use. Seems to be very positive.

Except for proposed action #9 which will close all the trails for winter travel. Which sucks because I know a lot of clubs including mine that use the black springs area for snow runs. Slick rock, Deer valley and a few others are marked as "change in management direction" which doesnt sound good and hopefully be explained at the meetings.

That would be the only down side for the winter runs or during wet conditions.

I was also curious as to what "change in management direction" means.
