Edge Products Trail Jammer Performance Kit question

I'm new to this kind of stuff and I've been doing quite a bit or research. I just wanted to hear thoughts about this product from the more experienced guys around here. Is it worth getting or am I better off with something else? Any advice is appreciated. Here's a link: http://www.thoroughbreddiesel.com/edge/edge_jeep_trail_jammer.htm

Also I was looking at the JET Performance stage 1 and stage 2 chips. Are these worth getting? And what's the difference between the two? If I were to get the trail jammer performance kit, would that replace the JET chip or would it still be a good idea to get the chip too?

Thanks in advance for any responses!

that kit is way over priced. piece together your own kit. you can get a cheap air tube from rustys. have your throttle body bored out by a machine shop.

as far as the jet chip, most say its a waste of money.

i cant see a 2 second improvement from installing that kit. outrageous claim.

I run the Edge kit on my 99 and I like it alot. Yes, it is overpriced but overall a good product. I definately noticed an improvement in performance (mainly over 3000 rpms) and a slight improvement in fuel economy. I installed the Edge kit, a Banks header, and a custom high flow exhaust from the header back all at the same time so I cant say exactly how much the Edge kit contributed by itself. I can say for certain that the factory intake/exhaust is restrictive and decent performace gains can be achieved by letting the engine breathe a little easier. I dont know what year your xj is but I would make sure you have the updated intake manifold before I did any intake or exhaust mods since there is a big difference in how the newer design flows.
