So im looking for a 92 auto compatable ecu to test with. I am running out of stuff to test or check with this 92 i picked up for cheap. Last effort is checking to see if the ecu is messed up. Only need it for a short time. Not sure what other years are compatable.
Anyway lowdown on the vehicle.
92 2dr auto 4.0
Was idling barely when i bought it. Would die if you put it in gear. Things i have replaced, and tested good.
Fuel pump
Fuel filter
Coil
Plugs
Wires
Cap
Rotor
Negative battery cable
Air filter
Things i have tested and found good
Cps
Tps
Map
Iac
Coil
CampositionSensor
Compression is solid 140s (this was a dry test)
Spark is present while cranking
Fuel pressure is in the 40s even while cranking
Injectors are firing (verified by fuel pressure drop while cranking with the fuel pump relay pulled) also all injectors are getting signal and tested with a node light. I also smell gas very strong out the tail pipe after cranking for only a short time.
Exhaust is clear.
Also tried cranking with the down pipe disconnected.
Distributor has been indexed manytimes both to the correct position, one and two teeth before and after the proper position.
Tdc has been verified 3 times and is on the money
I would love to check the timing with a scope however mine will only work while the engine is running and this one is not.
So to rap it up. I have spark air and fuel while cranking and everything i can think of checks out. But.... No joy.
