Easy way to instal Bump-Stops?

I just received in the mail, a pair of front Rusty's bump stops in the mail. I tried taking the old bumpstops out, without taking the coil springs out. But with no success. I was using large wrench and using the coil as leverage to push the old one's out, but they would not budge. I thought about taking a torch to them, but I said no, there's gotta be another way. What have y'll done to get the old pumpstops out? Thanks,
-John
P.S>I do not want to take the front coils out.

i worked the other end... glue(silicone) a hockey puck on the bottom where the bumpstop hits...
and it wasn't a real hockey puck....it was just a solid wheel of of an old roll around toolbox...

I installed extended bump stops in mine here not too long ago. To get them out, I just got ahold of them with a pair of Robo Grip pliers (from Sears) and used the coils as leverage. It took a little Horsepower, but twisting a little while prying brought them out.

Installing the new ones was a little trickier, so get ready to have some fun. I lifted the front end to get as much spread in the coils as possible. Then soaped the new bumstops so they could be forced through the coils. A pair of Vice Grips were attached to the coil so a pry bar could be used to push the new stop up into the collar without slipping. It was tricky, but doable ...

Good Luck,

Les

Unfortuanatly when I tried to do mine the mount came off the perch!

rent strut compessor, remove springs, take the old ones out, soap the new ones, place them in the cup, lower the rig till the bumpstop sits itself.

What's so hard about removing the coils? Put some jackstands under the frame rails to get the front end off the ground. Remove front tires/disconnect your swaybar and maybe your shocks. Take a floor jack and jack up one side of the axle. The other end of the axle will droop and the coil will slide off easily. The whole thing would only take 15 minutes.

For seating the new bumpstop, I just hold it in place and jack the axle till it pushes it in.
