I'm going to be in Pigeon Forge/Sevierville,Gatlinburg, next week for our family reunion and was wondering if anyone knew of any light duty trails around there. I'll be driving my mom's Unlimited so I can do anything too extreme, but she wants me to show her how to wheel a little bit. Were also going to be driving up through Ash County, NC so anything close to there would be great too.

Also if your just looking for a group senic type trail go to Cades Cove and right after the Poineer Village is a road that has some virgin timber and nice ride...Forget where it comes out but the Ranger staion were the ones who told me about it...

We were looking at Tellico as a possibility but were unsure if there was any easy trails for her to drive on. I think I'll be trying to persuade her to give it a shot though. Cades Cove is in GSMNP isn't it? Does anyone know of any other trails through there? Thanks for the replies so far.

Since her UNlimted is not lifted do not attempt to cross Fain's Ford on trail 4 an unexperienced driver will smash the rockers there. If your going to Tellico I suggest going in 6 at the TN pay staion on to 4 then taking the loop of 8 and then back out on 6. Just watch the turns on 8 one of them got a TJ pretty step a few years ago and it was stock but the length on the Unlimted will help you out.

I'd agree with Ghost, great trails and only a few tough spots.

I was in tellico this past weekend and Fain's Ford wasn't bad at all... there was a stock yj & a stock tj with us that made it fine. since they were first timers to tellico we went on trails 4,5,&6.

I talked to her about it today and she sounds like she wants to try out Tellico, time permiting of course. Is there any water crossings to be aware of? I think the northside of it is only about 80 miles from our cabin so I might try and convince her to make a day trip out of it. She did her first off pavement driving today down a muddy dirt road and has since started to express interest in going to a Jamboree sometime. Of course I washed the Jeep for her so she still doesn't know what it's all about. lol.
