Ok what weekend in November? December better? I'd like a good mix of 3 - 5 people to go. Who is interested and who can go when?

December won't work for me until after the 15th. That's exam month. However after then, I may be able to bring the ZJ. If we can go later in the month December is definitely better because I'll be done with this semester

Honestly I'm thinking middle November might be better for me. Get into Late December and we have Christmas to contend with.

I may just drive the Wrangler to this one. Even though it's fairly capable, there will be no real wheeling for me; just spectating & scouting since I want to keep it in good shape. This will be a tight time of year for us with the holidays. We will be going to Mullins for Thanksgiving, then December is Christmas. But I definitely want to go check the place out!

Good point. I keep forgetting most of you guys have families to buy Christmas for. :eeks1:
I may be able to squeeze a weekend in November out, as long as it's not the Uwharrie Veteran's Day ride, I'm definitely going to that.

Yeah I'd be in the ZJ, so nothing too crazy. According to my roommate who took his dirtbike there this past weekend, what he saw of the OHV area was pretty sweet.

I saw that some people over on TNJeeps went to Durhamtown Tellico last weekend, and asked their opinion. The only person that has answered so far went back in July. His response:

"We went in June and at that time they had a lot to do. Beautiful area but not a lot of challenge. Give it some time and it will be worth going."

He's on a lifted JK, so who knows what his definition of challenging is.

That has been the common theme with the people I have questioned about it. Give it time and get people going and it will be good. That is assuming they don't back fill everything that gets exposed.

Bringing this back up. I will be off on Friday after thanksgiving. Is anyone available that weekend? Mike you are going to be over here?

I'll be in Mullins. I was actually gonna see if you & D wanted to meet up with us for lunch that day. I'm sure the ladies will get along great, and I wanted to see if I could talk you out of your tube bender lol.

Unfortunately, I believe my wheeling days are over for a little while until my doc figures out what's up with my knees. I went for the MRI's yesterday and am waiting to hear back. Doc thinks it's torn meniscus in both, and those don't heal on their own from what I've read. It seems as though 2014 just isn't quite done with our bank account yet......:flamemad:

Yea I'll likely be here but thought I would see. I have that Friday off.

Unfortunately, I've burnt up my allotted wheeling days for the year.

Yea and I just got a call asking if I could go train a new agent in the Greenville area....... Back on the shelf.....

Bringing this back up to the top: Went to Hayesville this past weekend and rode over to check out Durhamtown in the Jetta. I'm ready to go! I only walked up one trail but it is a promising area. Lots of trail mileage, about 40, and one of the properties borders old Tellico. they have 3K acres too! One trail is 12 miles long. I'll try and get the map scanned at some point.

Love the recon. My initial thought is........looks messy when wet, but fun otherwise. Did you get to go into the shack and meet the folks?

Thanks! Yes I did. The lady I talked to was real nice and very chatty. Had a Yota that was local follow me in and I talked to them at length too. They asked about my rig and I told them and they said you will have some stuff challenge you too. Apparently they ride with a yota guy on 42's and he could not get up some obstacles. I'm excited about this place. I believe we might could even have an event there and stay at Crawfords. Need to see the trails first before I cross that bridge.
