Sand Lake, gearhart, pacific city. That's all that comes to my mind close.

Pacific City is a cool little town, and Sand Lake is just a few miles north... just remember to purchase your Oregon OHV sticker, and a flag... flag must be bright and 8ft. high ... allows your rig to be seen on the dunes... not sure what the fine is for not having one, but better safe than sorry!!!! Both items can be purchased @ the small store on the corner of the main road to Sand Lake... have fun!!!

Thanks guys , it sound like I should check out Pacific City first . Then I'll start working my way up and down the coast and explore all of the over the years .

I know that north of Seaside you can drive on the beach and go all the way to Fort Stevens. I don't think you need a flag or orv sticker.

Pacific City has 3 beaches you can drive on. The one closest to the center of town is the best because you have to climb over a hill of sand so not everyone can get out there. We we're just out there for the day on the 4th. It was awesome. The other 2 are closest to the sand lake side. Great place to park and spend the day.

Where's the entrance to the beach @ Pacific City where you climb over a hill? I'm only aware of the very popular beach where you enter through the big parking lot. That's a nice beach but can be a little crowded with both people & vehicles sometimes.

I don't know the name of it but we love going to the big beach between Pacific City & Sand Lake. It's only a few minutes from either but it's usually a lot less crowded. There's no facilities there but it's a really nice spot to drive right up and spend the whole day if you want. We're probably thinking of the same place.

If your coming from the sand lake store, there is an access point before you go up the hill. ( you will see the beach on your right side ) If you go up the hill, then you will come to a funky 3 way stop, the next access is about 100 yd beyond that. Its a small rd off to the right that goes down to a rocky dirt rd then on the beach. Then if you pass the parking lot ( that you were talking about ) and head down that street, like your going to the main section of town you come to a stop. You can got either right or left, left takes you to the center of the town, go right. There is a hill of sand..... get 4low and punch it. Once over the hill its awesome beach.
