So I just did the removable door mod on my xj and was curious if anybody has ever gotten stopped by the law and ticketed for driving w/o doors. I do have driver side mirror.
Doorless in cali...anyone ever get ticket for it?

Law is at least two mirrors. Driver is mandatory. If the rear view is blocked ie towing or a back window is blocked; then the passenger side is required.

I've never had a problem. I also recall hearing that if your rear glass is tinted, your inside rear view mirror does not count as a mirror.
I lost my mirror like 2 years ago and haven't had a problem running mirror-less since then.
It sure is tons of fun thiugh

I have ran with no doors and half doors and was never even looked at. By CHP or city police and they're looking to collect money now a days. Enjoy the ride, plus you'll like the open view when off roading

Did it on my MJ and no problems, just make sure to get another mirror like mentioned

I had a CHP follow me from valley springs for countless miles while I freaked out (no doors, cracked windshield, lisc plate is blocked by rear tire carrier, no fenders, and the jeep was swerving all over the road in front of him- so sketchy to drive without the sway bars and whatever my current front end issue is) and he didnt bother to pull me over....
only downside is I have a really bad sunburn on my left leg above the knee due to not putting sunscreen on sunday and driving home in shorts.

I've been pulled over a couple times and they've never thought twice about the doors. just make sure you've got good rock sliders. I smashed my last ones in and the doors never went back on. this time around I'm leaving the doors on and loving it. it's awesome but annoying getting wind whipped on the freeway and not being able to hear your passenger talk without yelling

IIRC, the "law" for no doors is 2 or more mirrors and "4 inches" between the floor and the bottom of the door opening.

Is that 4" from the ground to the bottom of the door? Or from the floor mat and the bottom of the door?

(b) The following described types of motor vehicles, of a type subject to registration, shall be equipped with mirrors on both the left-and right-hand sides of the vehicle so located as to reflect to the driver a view of the highway through each mirror for a distance of at least 200 feet to the rear of such vehicle:
(1) A motor vehicle so constructed or loaded as to obstruct the driver's view to the rear.
