Doing a head gasket. What cheap performance parts I could add?

it's a stud, not a bolt. they make a specific tool to remove studs, but you might get away with putting two nuts on it and tighten them against eachother, then use a wrench on the one closest to the head. I would replace it if it were me, just take the nut that came off there and tell them you need a stud to match the nut. any hardware store with a good nuts and bolts room should have them.

Rustys airtube and exhaust? i will agree with not doing the spacer, if it really worked why wouldnt all auto companies do something like it.

Does anyone have any experience with the hypertech programmers? have heard one good report on them but no personal experience.

Hypertech isn't worth it. Used one on my 2000. All it did was make it ping.

Put a new stud in it.

Yeah. I had a hypertech power programmer for my 2000 xj and it didn't do much. And that was with 93 octane tune. I've heard that superchips flashpaq is much better.
