Ok
Installed it today. It does indeed come with instructions that are a bit vauge about a few things, but overall good enough to make the install go well.
This was my cargo area before:
The red bag is my trail bag, tools, fluids, tow strap, etc. Between that the sub and the tire, not much room for other camping gear. A JCR carrier is on the way to get rid of the tire, then a new cargo box will go in thats level with the wheel arches. The air tank bracket for a tank that I don't have was removed as well.
You trim out the cubby to the outside edge of the lip of it. The instructions say to use a jigsaw. I found it to be a bit rough that way, needed alot of touching up. A good razor blade works very well with the interior plastic on a cherokee, cuts straighter and gives you a good option for cleaning it up. I cut out the cubby and the lip on the bottom then mocked the box up:
Subthump says some wires have to be moved out of the way and a hole drilled; I think this depends on the year. My wires needed to be moved but I didn't need to drill a hole and relocate a plug. Its very hard to get the supplied screws through the sheet metal as well, they could stand to be a bit longer/better cutting. I got 2/3 in.
I put the sub in, moved my amp under the rear seat, wired it up and tested it. Since it worked I put the panel back on:

And with the wheeling gear back in. I can't wait for my bumper to get here.
Haven't tested the sound much since it was late when I finished but it sounds like its hitting pretty good for a smaller box. I don't need a huge amount of bass, just like a little thump in the music for the full experience.
This box is very well constructed and I'd recommend it to anyone.
