Sometimes they can be a bear to get off. You can pry up on the cover with a screwdriver or gasket scraper, or you can give it a good rap with a hammer (although if your asking this question, thats not the suggested method).
Unscrew and remove all bolts except the 4 top/bottom/left/right ones. Leave the top in most of the way, remove the left/right half way, and then unscrew the bottom one all but the last 2 or 3 threads. Pry the bottom of the diff cover up carefully with a screwdriver until oil starts to pour out, let it drain for a minute or so, and then remove the screws and rest of the diff cover.
