There is a salvage yard in Strausburg (West of Limon on I-70) that has a bunch of XJ's and a few MJ's... I can't think of the name of the place. The MJ's are all in a condition that they would be happy to be relieved of their beds...

Thanks I'll have to check into that and see what I can find. I want to build a matching trailer for the XJ.

My thoughts exactly - although I think my wife would prefer I actually have the XJ rolling before a new project arrives in the garage...

That’s always a plus. If you have nothing to pull it with then you just have yard art at that point.

I like the idea of having matching body lines with the two. I want a long bed so I can turn it into a camping back country rig setup. Do my own frame and axle leaf lift so it's close to what I'm running at now same tire size also. Do a camper top on it and put a futon back there so the GF will go camping with me. She doesn't do the whole tent thing all that great. Best part is if I do my own frame I can do water tanks under it if need be thought about a truck tool box and propane tank up front and under the mattress do a pull out storage area for camping gear. Get the paint color matched. I think I can do all this for pretty cheap. I have the hookup on metal to build it and a guy that could do the paint for me. So tracking a long bed in good shape is the hard part at this point.

Thanks for the #.

Get out of my head, man! That is just what I have in mind, although I am thinking roof-top tent (wife and I up high, gear in the back, kids in a remotely located tent in the woods...)

I was thinking of using that blue or white insulation board under it and in it aswell like on the sides and all that try and find a toper that was insulated. Even going nuts and put one of those heat/ac units on it. Mostly the heat for out here and AC for those hot MOAB nights. It's be nice to have all my camping gear in that thing ready to go. Get off work friday drive home hook up the trailer load the food and head out of town. I hate having all that stuff up in the jeep so If I could just hook it up and go that would rock. Hame some square tubing male female hookups for a stove and latern and cooking plat form. I like alot of popups I see out there but wouldn't want to take them on some of the places I want this traillor to go. I got alot of ideas in the head I just need to bed to start working on so I can go from there really.

my dads worker just sold that same truck in the fall but i think it was bought by someone in CT
