Denver shooting.

Foolishness!! Much of CA is mountainous as well...I live at 3000 feet, you're only a half mile above me...;)

Understandable - but there's a difference between investigative details and stated motives, I was just wondering if the fool had said anything yet...

Everything I've read says that the shooter is being very uncooperative.

The asshat has a B.S. degree in Neuroscience.... And was working on his doctorate..... So he's gonna be WELL versed in choreographing his appearance and responses to work toward an insanity defense.

Move him to general population..... Save on a year long million dollar trial.....

It's funny how even scumbags have some lines they don't cross ,and will eat up one that is in jail that has crossed those lines ... killed a baby in the shooting is all the inmates need to hear ,and he will be a memory in less than a week .

but Mike we are above them... we're an entire mile above those californians!

Not all of 'em. Don't forget California has the highest peak in the lower 48:moon:

The above comment was made in jest so don't get your panties in a wad.:wave1:

Joking aside it's tragic and frustrating at the same time. Prayers to all so the wounds may heal.

Did you all see the article stating that the shooter had failed an oral exam at the college recently and it devastated him? Reminds me of a student I used to case manage. He was very bright and never had to do school work as it just all came naturally to him. Until he entered high school and then he didn't know how to cope. Didn't know how to study because he never had to. Really went down hill. Also just read another article that states that he sent a package to a campus psychiatrist with a notebook inside detailing how he was going to kill a lot of people in the near future. Police apparently found this package in a mailroom at the college and found that inside.

links?

found it right after I asked, thanks though. creepy.

I think it is highly possible that this is someone who was never truly challenged that much. If he did fail that exam and had some kind of underlying mental health issue then this could have for sure been traumatic enough to bring it out. Not making excuses just seen it and work with a similar population every day.

Dude...I already said it was rude of me to not have included the link. You don't have to resort to name calling.

no doubt, my deepest apologies! ;)

I'd be willing to bet when it is all said and done that this dude was either on, or withdrawing from, some sort of anti-psychotic/anti-depressant drug. Not that I disagree with your opinion of his inability to be challenged, but the dissociative tendency he is suddenly displaying after a lifetime of being a quiet and successful academic reeks of pharmaceuticals. And don't get me wrong, that in no way justifies or defends his violence, but I think discussing and explaining his mental state and how he got there is important in trying to recognize similar issues in others and prevent future tragedies...

I completely agree and I was not implying that he had not been on some medication.

There was actually another article I read this morning from Yahoo news that stated that he told the police after he was taken in that he was the Joker. The police had put some type of bags on his hands in order to preserve any evidence of firing the weapons (I think) and he started using them as puppets and carrying on with some sort of show.

For sure could be as a result of some cold turkey stop to taking his meds.

or side effects of the meds themselves. The violent and dissociative side effects of multiple frequently used anti-depressants are pretty well documented...
