Defective locker????

Well, I'm extremely disappointed at this point in ECGS's customer service. I never got the phone call that I was eluded to in the email I quoted. Further, I sent another email earlier this week, and still haven't gotten a response. The locker is still clunking. I pulled it apart, and as far as I could tell, nothing is broken or out of the ordinary. Fluid looked great, and there were no ridiculous wear marks. I have 4 videos I'm trying to upload to youtube so you guys can see just how loud and obnoxious it really is.

Have you tried calling them?

My spartan in my dana 30 clunks a lot on turns and jerks the wheel. I thought it was normal. It doesn't terrify me but it does whoever else is in my jeep.

Nah, in 2wd any lunch box style locker should be completely invisible with the exception of some ratcheting. You should be able to hear the ratcheting, not feel it.

I would really like to see what the wear pattern looks like on the ring and pinion. Another thing is that some lunchbox lockers require you to remove the thrust washers from the carrier. If that was supposed to be done but wasn't it would have the locker set up way too tight and it would sound like all hell breaking loose. The reason I am concerned about the ring and pinion is the locker should not be doing anything in a straight line. Is there a lot of wear metal in the gear oil?

Got a reply finally. I'm not too convinced...

We can send you open spider gears, and you can return the locker for a refund. Based upon the videos it is not out of the ordinary. We can also exchange it for another lunchbox style locker of your choice but I believe they will all operate the same. Thanks, Chase

I'm going to try and be these videos on YouTube again tonight. I keep getting authentication and format errors. And yes, it clicks ands makes noise going in a straight line. The noise is more of what I would suspect the "normal ratchet" sounds like when turning. When I turn, like jeep workin says all hell breaks loose. I've notice it's worse around left turns than right. Sometimes it will lock and unlock 3 times just taking a 90 degree corner.
