December RC Trail Ride

56!

Pm me your address and I'll mail the day pass out asap.

Very cool! Congrats Hackmeister!

I was at ColoradoFest a couple years back (at Ouray)..I hear the weather out there is pretty insane right now.

In honor of your coolness I checked out your site..now I know where to get my LED lighting when I'm ready! And, is what I see for real? Is that Zeus product actually an H4 led conversion?

Sure is! We have only had them out for a few weeks and thus far everyone loves them. Literally night and day difference from the stock sealed beams and they draw so little power an upgraded headlight harness is not necessary.

Definitely on my list....what housing would you recommend?

We are currently testing a bunch of conversion housings for XJ's before a final word is released. But I have heard good things from our customers about Autopal housings and Cibie "euro" housings. I'm using round Hella "euro" housings and the output is insane, low beams have a nice cutoff and there is no scattering of the light or dark spots, no street time yet though.

**** autopal.

Buy a name brand, make sure it's glass. ECE (euro) housings will get you a sharper cutoff. They're "technically" illegal since they're not DOT but no one checks that ever. I run Hella DOT housings and they rock. I won't run LEDs though... No heat from bulbs=snowy head lights.

Good to know, Sam, thanks for the response..You will definitely be hearing from me very soon.

Thank you for your support! Good luck with the weather out there! I miss Ouray so much.....:bawl:

That is a legitimate concern, for me and many customers. Time will tell how bad it really is. Propane torch mounted to bumper? Defrost strips? Summer headlights and winter headlights? Lol (they are plug and play and can be removed in no time with no tools but a Phillips head screwdriver)

I'm actually formerly known as Ktmracer419, and do not reside in Colorado with the rest of the guys :( . Once we get all the housing testing done I will be posting a thread in the vendors section!

those LED bulbs really put out enough light to be used safely on the road? I thought you needed special housings like the trucklite lenses?

There is certainly no shortage in the lighting department with these. Especially compared to the stock sealed beam headlamps.

We are going to be testing a bunch of housings to determine which we would be recommending to customers.

(sorry about the thread hijack!)

Looks like we might have a little bit of the white stuff. 1-3 inches sunday night in shamokin area. Doesnt look like temps will be high all week plus they closed wheeling during the week right now i believe. Might be some virgin snow.

Yep, and there may be more in store by the end of next week up there, so it looks like we'll be doing a little slippin' and slidin...Im excited, never been whelling there this deep into the season..latest Ive run there was mid-november (in a TENT!), and we had some light snow but nothing to coat the rocks.. I'm looking forward to it, no doubt.

Every time I've been there in the snow, there was a coating or an inch on East property and it was sloppy/muddy on west/south property. Still made for some fun wheeling. Have fun next weekend...I can't make it Saturday, but I'll be wheeling Sunday if anyone is sticking around til then.

plenty of snow today, looks like more is coming tuesday...should be a bit white up there....
