Dealer-installed alarm

My girlfriend lost the key and remote to her XJ and there's a dealer-installed alarm. I forgot what it was called FEV type or something. Today her dad tried taking the alarm out. Well, he got the alarm out, but now the Jeep won't start and instead of really getting into it, he stopped before he messed anything up. Anyone here install or uninstall alarms? We just need to know how to totally uninstall the alarm and wire things to stock.

Jeeper ... I have no clue about alarms. Mine is a '94 and does not have one. You may get some help in this forum, but you will have much better luck getting some help by posting this in the OEM Tech forum. Make sure you give everyone relative info about your Jeep such as year, model, engine and tranny, etc.

Had the same problem taking an old alarm out of a Mazda once. You need to find where the alarm wiring was spliced into the starter wires. Mine were under the hood right near the starter but they could be cut anywhere from the starter back to the ingnition switch. hth
