if you get a d44 from out of an XJ will it directly bolt up to back of a MJ? already as a spring over..?

it should be pretty close.... my only concern would be that the perches arent the same width

I think you can make it work but expect your spring bushing to wear out extra fast.

im considering buying the MJ and swaping the 4x4 system from Avon on to the MJ..
a HO 4.0L swap with the transmission and xfercase.. from Avon as well.
Just need a place to do it ... if I do buy it..
any volunteers? we could make it a
tool time event.. lol
