What is the strength difference if any between the dana 44 6 lug and the 44 8 lug from a chevy?

I believe depending on year, you just need to use the 8-lug hub/disc assembly. If you have an older chevy 6-lug with the smaller bearings (early '70s?) you'll need to use the big bearing spindle as well.
