Hm - interesting, but it doesn't say IFS or SLA one way or the other, so I'm still not sure.
Since I know Dana has separate service manuals for IFS and SLA versions, and I've only been able to get a D50IFS manual to date, I'm tempted to stick with what I know. I could check the BoM listing as well (takes a little longer...) but I don't recall seeing SLA BoM's for the D50, just for the IFS version.
Granted, I'm still trying to dig up D25, D26, and D41 info as well, but that is going to take a while...
From 99.5 to 2002 Ford f250 used solid dana 50's up front normally leaf sprung. while it is the same as a D60 externally it has a 9" ring and the shafts taper down to a little larger then D44 shafts at the spline, and they are 30 spline. In my opinion it is worthless. Yeah you get the housing strength but the internalls dont make it worth while to loss the ground clearance and the unit bearings and axle seals dont last in mud.
Its the same thing Ford did in the rangers and a couple early sploders. they used dana 28 guts in a dana 35 housing!! I found that out the hard way, went to put gears and lockers in my "d35" only to find out it was a D28 in disguise! so I did what any rational person would do, D60s front and rear!
Hm. I've got more questions for my contact at Dana anyhow - either get them dug up for me, or arrange to peruse the archives next time I'm out there (trying to find archival stuff anyhow - Dana 18/20/21/300, Dana 25/26/27/41/30Super/35Super/60Super, and stuff like that... Probably need to expand/revise my BoM listings as well, as I know I don't have them all, and I'm still trying to get listings for pinion offset, WMS-WMS, and the like.)
I dont beleive any parts between Jeep's 35 and fords 35 ttb are interchangeable, allways here rumors that you can use the carrier or something but I dont trust it as the TTB D35 was such a bastard child.
