dana 30 upgrade

Everytime I have been out to Johnson Valley, I see dana 30's left and right. Granted, the buggy guys arent running them anymore, but they used to, right up until they went 37/40 " tires ..and they ran them with good luck. Most of those guys are still pro dana 30, just have outgrown them.

If the hammers are not enough of a proving ground, you clearly hold unrealistic standards. :)

hard on the throttle, hard on the brakes forces the TT to lock and pull me up a stairstep with one front wheel lifted and the rear tires in loose dirt, but sometimes it breaks an axle or gears. :D

Oh I thought he said he was done with this form, and by form I thought he meant page........sometimes I am the one who needs the translator.

haha. Ok, I don't wheel like that..... yet. Honestly, 3 wheels touching surface is still a worrypoint. But I've been there a few times.

He might have said form, I thought because of the other errors in his post, maybe he just missed the u key?

Hey, I wheeled the Con last year with my D30. It didn't break.

I've only seen one dana 30 break on the con.. but it was Remi's jeep which more or less invalidates it being the fault of the axle.

Thats funny, or i could go play on Black III's at paragon with my Q78's and detroits...worst iv ever had is a cap start to back out on the ride home...

It has been said many times before but I think I will repeat it
"if you 4-wheel eventually somethings going to break, it's inevitable".

I don't have experience with larger tires on a d30 but I've seen many a 33" tire on them and know one guy with 35" tires on a TJ (low pinion) d30( he says it's only temporary).
I also know a guy with an 80's one ton ford with a D60 rear. With only 33" super swampers, he broke a shaft and his detroit locker as well as a front leaf spring mount. Granted he was being stupid and didn't let off the gas when his truck went in the air, with a truck that should never be in the air in the 1st place. But it goes to show, anything can break if given the proper encouragment.
