Damn City...

I have a twofold question -

1) Is there anyone who has the room to store a few rigs? I'm getting flak from the City, I don't have room to work on them (yet), and they're being about as flexible as a girder (damn people.) So, I need to get at least a couple out of the driveway.

2) (and this is the option I hate) is there anyone interested in a couple of RENIX parts rigs? I'll probably be putting up at least a 1987 Pioneer (grey) and a 1989 Limited (burgundy/grey.) I really hate having to do this, but the City can dock me for first $250 each, then $500 each, then $1000 each, and then they just swipe them. The 1987 Pioneer is missing a few goodies (like the seats, the intake, and the valve cover - they're around, and I can dig them up) and the engine will need to be overhauled (this is the one I blew the oil pump in.) The Limited is mainly compleat (I may have cannibalised a part or two,) but the engine was sound and the rear axle needs new pinion bearings.

Either way, I've got to do something soon - and I'd really hate to end up sending them to the crusher. They're solid rigs - I was planning on rebuilding/restomodding them - but the damn City is being difficult, the municipal codes don't make any sense, and I'm stuck.

Details and pictures on request. I didn't post this in FS because I'd prefer to not sell them - but I can't afford to get storage bays for them. I'll sell them if I have to - but that's not the thrust of this.

Note - either way, we'll need a flatbed trailer to move them. They can be repaired (probably fairly easily - I'm just limited on space,) but they don't run. They are registered PNO, and current.

Damn.

Your driveway does have a very distinctive look.

Do I understand it correctly, no matter whether they run or not, you won't be able to keep them, you will have to sell them, probably after restoration ?

Should you decide to take parts off one of them or more, I can help.

They're not running. If I could prove they run, the City would get off my back - but all the batteries have been pulled (I don't have any spares lying about,) and two are non-starters. One is downchecked for pinion bearings, and one for a currently unknown fault - probably in the engine management system (heat-related failure.)

However, despite the fact that they're not broken and bleeding hulks, the fact that they're currently registered PNO, they're insured (comp only) and I keep them fairly clean - they're considered a "blight" - and I'd love to get hold of the damn fool that called me in. But, Code Enforcement won't do that - and I'm bothered that someone has a problem with something I'm doing and can't come talk to me first.

I won't be parting any of them - got to get rid of them too fast.

Any takers?
