If anyone wants it, I saw an XJ D44 under a blue junker at Colorado Auto Salvage - 2151 W. Radcliffe. It's at the far west end of a row near the west fence and it's missing the drums and axle shafts, but otherwise it's complete with the backing plates and brake hardware. Actually, the whole XJ was pretty nice..... Shame. Bring a high-lift jack and stack some wheels to get this one.
There was also a black Limited '90 or so, with pretty nice tan leather interior and the overhead console with map lights and whatnot. Right across from the blue one.
There's also a '95 and a '00 there - both hit very hard. '95 was a bad t-bone and the '00 was hit very hard in the front. Both front axles are bent and displaced but have 297 shafts if anyone wants to work hard to get 'em. Bring a floor jack and something to remove tie rod ends because the steering is jacked up, keeping the knuckles turned too much to pull the shafts straight out. I wanted 'em, but it was just too damn hot to mess with 'em and I didn't have the jack. Plus, they want $35 for each axle shaft, not including extra for the unit bearing if you can't get that to separate.
