Would like to do the cut and fold, but looks like some of my options are limited. What would you guys do?

Cut & fold, just get some sheet metal to weld in to fill the gap. Seen lots of people on here do it that way...

Most I've seen in that condition they cut everything off except for like a 2-3" strip (which gets folded like you normally would) and then a rectangular piece welded in to sort of 'replace' the rot. If that makes sense....

Still doing the same thing essentially, just replacing the rot. Then seam sealer and paint. There are a few threads, I'll link one when I find it

There are other, far more detailed ones, I'm just too lazy to dig them up...

I originally did the standard cut and fold about 8 years ago. They were just spit welded shut by a buddy. Collected water dirt and mud. Didn't really notice until I was expanding my wheel wells, and they were all nasty and rusting out. I cut all but about a 1/2" to 1" lip on either side and welded in some 18g fully welded by a buddy, seam sealed, and painted inside and out with primer then undercoating.

If I were to do it again, I'd just trim all but a lip and weld in new steel, seal and paint as everyone above mentioned
