So ive been looking into getting some quarter guards for the XJ, but they are quite pricey. And i also want to get some box tail lights. But after looking i really dont have the money to pay for both. One of my friends just became a certified welder and me and him were talking about them. Would it be possiable for us to build some quarter guards and box tail lights. Like these

Practice, practice, practice. :chef: ...........and you will be able to cook anything up!

I am planing on making myself something similar but I have been pondering how to do it so it matches the curve of the XJ body. Most of those you see are given a little curve in them with a metal brake to tightly seal against the XJ body.

The Thors are awesome looking though................. Ask Crusin Illusion or FrankZ both have done their own panel guards with built in fenders...... not sure of the links but do a search.

ya those dont look too difficult.....
ill have to talk to him tomorrow but my buddy is the lead welder at a structural weldin place here in the springs....to say he is damn good is an understatment....
hes not free but his time is WAAAAAYY less than you would ever pay at a shop.....
let me know and ill give him a jingle he is almost always up for some side work

Ya i know what your talking about the curve. I would like to make them go with the curve and go a few inches below the window, but getting that curve would be little hard. So i dont know what were going to do yet. I think after school tomorow were going to pull it into the shop and look at it, and possiable make a temp of it.

Ya i really like the Thors, thats were i got the idea of the panel guards and the light put together. But i dont know, b/c they may be a little hard to fab up.

Just so you know, the THORs are not just straight pieces of Steel, their rolled to flow with the body of the Jeep.

Yep, like said they are not flat. Wouldnt be that hard to make save for that little detail.

If your buddy works at a fab shop, Im sure he could do it though.
