I have been hit by those flying carp before. The big ones run about 30lbs and they come straight into the boat! We go out on the river in Hardin IL, and there are plenty. They only jump for the metal boats though, we went out on a pontoon and saw nothing, went back in the all weld aluminum and one knocked my father-in-law off his seat! priceless. Nothing beats taking a non-believer out and proving fish do jump in your boat!

I heard the Asian carp get bigger than that, ~100 lbs. Haven't experienced that yet though.
