true - but I personaly HATE my low pinion Ford 9 - and I suspect that the 60 pinion is about the same "lowness" so in that regard - I dont wish that on anyone...jester1084 said:I know, but the guy is selling them as a set. I could always trade the 60 or sell it if I decide differently. One thing is, I know whenever I move up to 35's it'll take a beating if I decide to keep it.

I can't use my CHP as it's 31 spline, + I need it to sell my 449 complete.
I'm tempted to buy another CHP to save $1000+ on what I think is already overkill, if not lacking bling.
Our goal is try & build 'um as light as our 44's.

CRASH said:Oh, another thing, I think your axle balance would be thrown way off by using a CHP over a TH9. Think of the balance, man.
CRASH said:Seriously, are you worried about the 1/4" tubes in the Spider 9?
you can get way more bending resistance from a simple truss than by going to 3/8 wall, and with less weight.David Taylor said:Problem solved: As of today.
Hey guys!! Do to popluar demand we are now offering 3/8" wall Spider 9 housings!!! It is considered to be a custom order only at this point so we aren'y stocking them yet, but if you allow 4-6 weeks to build we will have you a 3/8" wall axle housing!!! And please note, we still completely stand behind our 1/4" wall design from an engineering standpoint and will continue to produce and stock them, but we are listening to what the public wants and are trying to cater to that. But 3/8" is as big as we're going. No 1/2". Dont ask

unless your concern is denting the tubes...
Paul S said:I agree. I'm having trouble steping up to the Spider over the Currie with 3/16 wall.

CRASH said:It can be hard to properly truss a front if you are not running CO's.
David Taylor said:Good thing some of those will be going on also. The hardest part will be ordering the housing (dare I say) full width. :wierd:
wow...CRASH said:You'd be surprised, the Dana 60 has less hypoid offset than a Dana 44. It's the least amount of "lowness" of any common Dana differential.......

Gonna be able to fit through the gate at Barrett? 80 inches max!
Paul S said:Interesting that you say the rear 9 needs a truss more then the front, I've never even considered trussing it. Course the rear soaks up the big bumps that bottom the front hard.
