Sears currently has a decent roll cabinet setup for about $325. Not pro shop grade but way better than your average home garage has in it. Just bought one and a 2nd top chest as a mobile box as I sold my old shitty roll cabs to my roommate and my mobile toolbox literally fell apart the other day. (I'm going to try to get HD replacement latches for it so I can still use it though. Probably it busted because the tools I carried in it weighed more than I do.) For some reason black is way more expensive than red, and you have to print out the online price and bring it into the store (store price is on sale but way higher.)

All the individual pieces are on sale, too, if you don't need the intermediate chest or just want one piece. Only complaint is no latching drawers - you have to lock the box for transport - but for the price it ain't bad at all. Big improvement over my crappy nylon glide drawer, separate lock bars old POS.

I haven't put mine together yet and one thing that I will do is roll by Fastenal in the morning and get some 1/4" Grade 5 nuts bolts and washers to put the handle and casters on rather than use the hex head self tappers that it comes with.http://www.naxja.org/forum/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=246005188

yeah don't expect Snap-On quality, it's made you-know-where but for a seldom moved cabinet it's about as dirt cheap as you can get, it's actually about the same price that I paid for an on-sale-at-Sears much shittier one something like 5 years ago.

I did beef mine up by drilling out all the holes for the casters and handle and instead of using the self tappers I used 1/4-20 x 3/4" grade 5 bolts and nylocs with washers (actually the hardware provided for the longer version of the similar cabinets.) I just don't trust stuff screwed into thin sheetmetal. I thought about actually making reinforcement plates for the casters and handle but realized that that was probably in the realm of turd polishing.

One complaint, now that I got it unboxed (I waited until this AM because I wanted to run by Fastenal to get more 1/4-20s) the description says it comes with a mat for the top of the roll cab; well it does but it's just shitty black drawer liner, and not even the good solid kind, the kind that looks like kitchen shelf liner with the holes in it. Hopefully the rubber mat from my old one fits...

Just be careful. Once I moved over my mechanic's tools I spent yesterday inventorying everything and I've probably spent $100 or more at sears and East Coast Tools filling the holes in my "collection." (I started with a Craftsman basic mechanic's set w/ 6pt. sockets and have been picking up stuff I didn't have at yard sales, pawn shops, etc. as needed, so of course I'll have e.g. a real nice set of full polish wrenches with two missing...) But then again I have a more complete tool set than most of the mechanics at my friend's shop... (which I'll actually be working at next week b/c his top wrench is on vacation, that's part of the reason for this exercise)
