My 2000 Grand Cherokee started loosing water very slowly and eventually resulted in loss of oil presure. Car now has 185,400 miles. Cracked Head! Manufacture date is 5/00. I have decided to scrap the car. Cast Iron is a superior material for a cylinder head for a cast iron engine, but not if you don't cast it right.

If you can do the work yourself, you're only looking at about $600 for the parts. I recently did mine. Are you sure you don't want to know where to order a new head?

Any chance that head can get on the next Parts Train heading up north? I've been trying to get my grubby little paws on a #0331 - but no luck yet.

I don't care if it's cracked or warped, since I'm just going to cut it up anyhow...

Giving up a little too easily there aren't ya! Its a casting that is know to crack, things happen and besides its the head that cracked not the block.
