considering motorcycle riding....

Not to mention the experience of getting a close sniff from the guy in front of you who just squished a skunk with his dually pickup... or being behind a tractor trailer when he rolls over a deer at 65 mph and having to drive 60 miles into work covered in blood, hair and guts. Ahh those memorable mornings.
I imagine riding 60 miles to work covered in blood, hair, and guts, as unpleasant as it may be, is much better than hitting the deer yourself. It comes pre-softened for your comfort...

if you ride in the left part of the lane, prepare to get ciggarette butts thrown at you.

Yup, but it take many hours with a pick and stiff brush to get that crap out of the cooling fins and all the nooks and crannies so it does not get stinky when it gets hot. You know it still stinks when people roll up their windows next to you at a stop light.

Guy I work with was killed 2 weeks ago when a car pulled out in front of him and his wife while they were riding down a country road. He died instantly, she lived luckily to take care of the kids they left behind. So be safe for sure, riding a bike is the same as running down the street at 60mph.
