Congratulations!

There's a ton of great wheeling in NC. No reason not to host an event here. A naxja uwharrie trip would be very beneficial to all I think. I'm speaking in terms of a month or 2 notice. Long enough for big attendance.

Uwharrie is not a difficult trail system, but its a great place for a group to get together and get to know eachother. I would just like it to be feasable for me to attend more than the crawl. I know there's a good many NC boys and gals here.

This is something I would like to see happen. A little give and take instead of always being in tennesee would be nice. I know Ghost has offered up his place, a 2 hour trip is a lot better than 6 plus.

Not meaning to rant, just saying not all change is bad.

There were two events that NAXJA sponsored and supported this year at URE. You attended at least one of them. Tim and I devoted time and resources to those events, I'm sorry that they were not up to your expectations. I thought they were very successful events in supporting the public land that we wheel, meeting prospective members and getting some time together with current members. Both Jamborees we had a group that got together and wheeled. We are always learning how to make our planned events bigger and better while still acting as upstanding and responsible adults of the offroad community. Remember that the SEC and national BOD has and continues large monetary contributions to URE.

I don't understand this tension between states or areas, and how we should "make" people travel one place or another. Seems awfully childish to me. I travel longer distances because I want to, not because anyone makes me. I wish I could do more trips. I enjoy going to new places and meeting new people. Maybe if everyone would put their big boy pants on and become active and responsible instead of complaining about how events are planned, more stuff would come their way. I have already expressed in another thread how I want to help guide and support members building NAXJA in their local areas.

Congrats guys! cant wait to see what yall have in store for the chapter!

You guys completely misunderstand me.

I dont want to make anyone travel, and without re reading my previous posts, which often are late night, half asleep, cell phone at work ramblings, let me say.

I would like to see more meets, even if its a grab a burger, or pizza and wrenching, I know most of us live far away, and the Tennesee guys have a pretty sweet cluster all in one area, and are always posting about there constant get togethers.

Im kind of jealous, I have my club functions here, but Im always looking to wheel and experience something different. Thats why Ive already planned to be at the crawl this year, to finally meet half the naxja folks. You cant take most things I say as offensive, I dont mean it, just seems to come out that way.

RRedalty, I agree, Uwharrie is boring. I only go 3x a year. Callahantee was really the best place we had since Tellico, and currently thats off limits too. Its really a damn shame. The Flats is a great spot, but not much worth a 6-8 hour drive considering you can hit every trail in a day if youve got a badass rig, and if you dont u cant do most the trails. The farm is just too small. DPG is too small. etc...

However there is a new park in South Carolina, not 100% public yet, but being opened, 500+ acres. Looks to have alot of potential.

Agreed. 90% of the parks are in this area of the sec. I can be at at least 8 500-2000 acre parks within a 4 hour drive with some as little as 45 min away.

The reality of it all is that there WILL be more going on in the Carolinas and Georgia due to the fact that the BOD members reside there. It's just natural. UNCC and Cnickgo get together and plan stuff already and that will just grow as more and more people find out about the wheeling and meet & greets. Stump does the forest camping trips and I'm sure more will join in those adventures too (heck, I'd love to since Stump is a riot to hang with).

That isn't to say things will just dry up and blow away elsewhere. Others will continue to plan get togethers and trips as normal.

I think the Crawl is one event that is very successful and needs no changes in terms of time of year or location.

I would encourage everyone to take the time to go to an event at least once. The people is what makes things a lot of fun and the food is usually pretty awesome too. The wheeling is just something to enjoy between everything else. Mark and i plan to make it to Uwharrie at least once. We've never been wheeling in NC so we can check that off of our "bucket list of wheeling locations".

I think the new crew will do a great job and grow things in different areas. This stuff doesn't happen overnight. We worked 4 years and still had work to do.

Let's all have fun and pitch in to help make things happen in our respective areas and attend functions that others work hard to put on. We will all benefit.
