Oh forgot about another common issue that trips misfire codes on 00-up, the cam sensor/oil pump drive walking out of sync. Some early ones even had them seize up.

etaniyani said:i would try that but i dont think thats the problem as the codes were reading cylnder misfire, and the shaking only occured after i had been running the engine for a little while to full temp. then turning it off. once i turned it back on after couple min. thats when it was running really rough. i would have tried it anyways but i already replaced the coil and dont really want to be guessing anymore because the $$$ will begin to add up.
etaniyani said:ya but the question is if MJR is wililng.
etaniyani said:hey mike, if you dont mind, i would really appreciate if you would be able to reset the TSB, and it would save me the money if it turns out to be the problem. let me know if you have the time this weekend as i go to school during the week. it will probably take me an hour to get there from santa monica, but probably worth the time if youre willing. thanks a lot.
etaniyani said:hey mike, really appreciate it here's the engine controller number 56041386AB.
I'm not exactly sure if that sleeve will work but if its only like $10. Thank you.
etaniyani said:sure if the sleeve isn't any trouble to get, as for the number, thats what it says i just checked it again. its a 2001 xj. its located under the dash board, and starts with 5604 and ends with 2 letters so im assuming thats the number. is it essential that you need to know the number now, or can it wait until you see it tomorrow? thanks.
